TheGrint App – New Golf Games Feature

TheGrint App – Golf Games Feature Available Now!

For a long time now, and thanks to many of your suggestions, we have been working on a new feature to track more than just Medal. This new feature would not only allow you to track your Games but the History of your Games against your friends, so you can keep the tally.

Well, today we are announcing that the Games Feature is already out in our iPhone app and ready to be used (Make sure you download the latest iPhone version).

So, how does it work? Pretty easy… Below we will show you the Screenshots of where you can find the Golf Games Feature as well as the instructions and an example of how it works.

We hope you enjoy it! And please let us know your feedback as you try it out.

The Games Feature you can find it on the Players Setup Screen (at the bottom):

As you can see above, in the “Select Players” screen we now have a Games button, that you can use to select between 6 Games (currently). Once you select the Game you can setup your Game as follows

  1. HDCP: You can play Net or Gross Scores.
  2. Mode: You can play War (everyone against everyone), Pot (all competing for one big prize) or Pairs (2 Vs 2). And
  3. Points per player, which basically determines how much the Front 9, Back 9 and Nassau.

As you will see on the image above, because it is High & Low Game, the App automatically separates Team A (Player 1 & Player 2) and Team B (Player 3 & Player 4).

Now, you might be wondering, what if you don’t now how one of those Games is played exactly? Well, just tap on the “Explanation” option next to “Games” and it will take you to the Screens below:

After this Screen, you just need to Swipe to the Right to read how each of the Games is played, and you will see the Screens below:

After you and your Partners decide which Game you all want to play, it is time to have fun!

Select the Game on the Players Setup Screen and then continue to the 1st Hole and start tracking your Scores like usual.

Then after a few Holes or after the 1st Hole if you want, you can check how the Game is going by Taping where it says “Games” at the Bottom of the Screen.

(shown below using the Stableford Format- Red Arrow)

Now, if you tap where it says “See Points Details” it will show the same table but explaining how the points are distributed (shown below) Also, for more detail on how the Game is going between all of the players, you can Tap where it says “More” and it will show you a list of all the Holes you have played, with each of the Players’ Score and Net Score so that you can all see where each of the Players Won or Lost Points.

(This shown below as well)

After you all finish your Rounds and the Game is over, we make it easy for all of you to see who Won and who Lost. Before you get to the Scorecards and before you upload your Scores, the App will show you the Game Results (shown below).

After you all upload your Scores, the Games you play will be saved in your Account, under the Stats Tab and then on Games Performance.

There you will be able to see what is your Win % of all of the Games you have played with your Friends, the amount of Points you have accumulated on all of your Games, the Avg. Points and the amount of Games you have played as of that day.

At the bottom you will be able to see the Games Log and if you Tap on one of them, you will be able to Review the Results of that specific Game as well.

If you guys have questions or need help, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or send us an e-mail to contactus@thegrint.com

Enjoy your Golf!

Great new features though for us in the Uk a more traditional stableford scoring system is most popular: 0 points for double bogey1 point of bogey , 2 points for par, 3 for birdie, 4 for eagle and so on. Also takes handicap into account and allocates shots based on SI. Will this be developed?
Also notifications need work as I never receive any nor do my friends despite being on.

    • Hi Mark, good morning.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it.

We understand the points are different in the UK. We will try to implement the Option to change the Points for certain Game Formats in the future. For now, we only have the Classic Scoring System.

Regarding the Notifications, we suggest you check on your Phone Settings, that your Notifications are ON for TheGrint App.

Let us know if you have any questions or need anything else.

      Have a great day!

Have enjoyed this feature. Would like to be able to have more than one game going concurrently someday.

    • Hi Ted, good morning. Thank you for your Feedback and support! We appreciate it.
Yes, we are actually working on it. We hope to be able to launch that option soon. We don’t have a date for it, but we are working on it.
Let us know if you have any questions.
      Have a great day.

Great idea, can’t wait till spring or when the snow is gone!!!

  4. Mike

This might be a dumb question, but do these games assume each player is using their phone to enter their own scores in real time during the round? Or does one player enter scores for everyone?

    • Hi Mike, good morning.

      Thank you for contacting us.

To answer your question, one player has to keep track of everyone (4 players) who will be playing the Game. For now, the feature does not allow you to use two or more Phones to keep track of 1 Game for more than 4 people.

      We apologize for the inconvenience.

Let us know if you have any questions or need anything else.

      Regards.

Hi, is this feature available for Android yet?

    • Hi Billy, good afternoon,

      Thank you for contacting us.

To answer your question, for now, no. It is only available for iPhones.

We are developing it for Androids right now.

      We apologize for the inconvenience.

      Regards,

Any updates as to when this feature will be available for Android?

    • Hi Jason, good afternoon,

      Thank you for contacting us.

Hopefully soon. The Development Team is working on this, but we still don’t have a date for its release.

      We apologize for the inconvenience.

      Regards,

  7. This is such a great feature, but I would love to be able to tie the game to another friend on the app so we each can use our phones for this. Perhaps even tie it into the Leaderboard feature so there can be side games, all while we use our own device.

    • Hi Brock,

You both can use the Live Leaderboards (each using your own Phones) while you play a Round. You can actually join a Leaderboard your Friend creates, even if you are not playing. You can Join just to see how your friend is playing Live.

The Leaderboard is created through the App. You can e-mail us to contactus@thegrint.com if you have any questions.

Everyone in my group uses grint, I’d like to see more options in the games such as multiple groups, multiple games going on concurrently, We use another “popular” app right now, but that app is quite Buggy and like I said, we’ve all been using grint for a while.

    • Hi Stephan, good morning.

Thank you for your comment. We appreciate it!

We will definitely discuss this and see what we can do for future versions.

Again, thank you for your feedback.

  9. Robert Dong

Option to have rotating partners would be great as well. Say A&B vs C&D first 6 holes then A&D vs B&C next 6 etc

    • Hi Robert, good morning,

We apologize for the late response.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it.

We actually have this in mind for future versions. We hope to be able to complete this feature & option soon.

You can e-mail us at contactus@thegrint.com if you have any questions.

      Regards.

Hello, love the Grint! Would love it if we could play games (EG. Matchplay) where we all input our own scores on our own devices, similar to how we can on leaderboard. Thanks!
